2013 Stomp Out Suicide 5K
Run/Walk for Awareness

Our 2nd annual Alissa M. Haines’ Stomp Out Suicide Run/Walk for Awareness took place on August 24, 2013. Suicide survivors, mental health advocates, friends and families gathered together at Goodview Park in Wyoming, MN, to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.

Event highlights

  • Over $48,000 raised to benefit Stomp Out Suicide
  • Over 1,400 event attendees at the park
  • 894 registered 5K participants
  • 112 volunteers
  • 71 silent auction items donated
  • 42 cases of water donated for participants
  • 17 organizations represented, with 9 present, at our resource fair
  • 9 clowns, characters and face painters
  • 2 bounce houses
  • 2 food stands
  • 1 live band and 2 DJs
  • 1 balloon release in memory of suicide victims and survivors
  • Keynote speech by Kathy Bystrom, Community Health Outreach Coordinator for Fairview Lakes Medical Center and Co-chair of Forest Lake Area Partnership for Families
